Chapter Ten - The Coming Glory Days of Harvest Book

SOAR LIKE AN EAGLE DURING THE HARVEST

Eagles have always been regarded highly because of their courage, aggressiveness, superiority and power. Perhaps this is because they fly to such extreme heights on the wings of the wind. They build their nests in the crags of the rocks of the mountain clefts.

In 1782 the eagle was instituted as the national bird of America. In 1784 Benjamin Franklin wanted to change that and declare the turkey as our national bird but the stately eagle retained its prominence in the hearts of our leaders, remaining America’s symbol of courage and liberty.

Dueteronomy 32:10-13 He found him in a desert land, and in the waste howling wilderness; he led him about, he instructed him, he kept him as the apple of his eye.

As an eagle stirreth up her nest, fluttereth over her young, spreadeth abroad her wings, taketh them, beareth them on her wings:

So the Lord alone did lead him, and there was no strange god with him.

He made him ride on the high places of the earth, that he might eat the increase of the fields; and he made him to suck honey out of the rock, and oil out of the flinty rock;

God speaks to us through all of created nature just like He spoke to Moses when he was tending sheep during his 40 years on the backside of his desert experience with the Medianites.

There are two types of eagles found in the desert region. The first one is the golden eagle. It has yellowish feathers on its neck. As it glides through the heavens the sun reflects its golden beauty.

Gold represents deity or triune Godhead. We are the partakers of the divine nature of God.

II Peter 1:4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

We, as believers, have mistaken weakness for humility. This has been a cop out and we do not face up to our responsibilities as God’s representatives here in the earth. Let me remind you that if you have been born again then you have the divine nature of God in your spirit man.

The second type of eagle that is found in this desert region is the Imperial eagle. Imperialism stands for kings.

Revelation 1:6 And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.

We were born to rule and reign in life.

Why do you think that the majority of Christians serve God? Isn’t it because they want to go to heaven? Why do they want to go to heaven? Isn’t it so that they can escape the fires of hell? What do you think they think they are going to do when they get to heaven? Most of them will tell you that they are going to lay down beside the river of life and drink from the water of life and eat from the tree of life the fruit of life. This is a lazy man’s Christian mentality. To not think beyond walking through the pearly gates, down the streets of pure gold while gazing at the walls of jasper while heading toward their mansion in glory where they are preparing to retire from all earthly and heavenly work is ludicrous. While they are imagining the angels waiting on them hand and foot instead of attending to the One who sits upon the throne is vanity.

We need to understand why we are here. We didn’t just arrive one day from the love shared between two people. God used our parents to bring us on the scene. Before we were formed in the womb God had our number. We were predestined before the foundations of the world were lain. Get that knowledge down on the inside of your spirit man.

There is a divine purpose for your being here right now, today. Your purpose in the earth is not just to get saved and go to church each week, pay your tithes and go home and come back again next week. That is a lazy Christian’s mentality. You are here for a divine appointment! God has something special for you to do for His glory. Find out what your purpose is. Talk to Him. Ask Him to reveal your assignment in the earth.

Genesis 1:26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

God made each one of us in His image, Jesus’ image and the Holy Spirit’s image. He made us in their likeness also.

How do you see God right now? Do you see God running for cover when He sees the devil coming in like a flood? Do you see God crippled or sick? Do you see God poor or lacking what is needed in His life? Do you see God in chains or enslaved? Do you see God as an adulterer, a fornicator, a homosexual, a murderer, and a thief or as a child molester? Do you see God as a wimp or do you see Him as a mighty God who is in control of this universe? Do you see God holding this universe together in His infinite wisdom and power? Do you see God holding the atoms and neutrons in the divine balance of His creativity?

I see God as mighty and powerful. One day God stepped out on nothing and spoke His word that produced life into that nothingness and something was formed and created by the words of His mouth. Out of nothing something appeared and the worlds were framed.

Hebrews 11:3 Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.

Genesis 1:28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

Romans 5:17 For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.

We are supposed to reign in this life, not just after we are dead or translated out of here. If we cannot reign here in life how will we be able to reign there? We are to reign in life by Christ Jesus.

Revelation 5:10 And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.

In this Scripture we see a picture of us reigning on the earth during the Millennium reign with Christ.

Revelation 22:5 And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever.

The eagle is the king of birds. We are not supposed to live a defeated life because we are eagles (kings) and priests reigning in this life. If we are kings and masters then we should to be masters over our passions, masters over our appetites, masters over sin and masters over satanic attempts that invade our territories. Masters don’t scuffle with demons in the dust! Masters don’t roll over and play dead!

We are to charge all demon powers to leave and flee from our presence in the name of Jesus! We are to rise up and walk with dignity as those who are kings and reign like Christ Jesus.

Young eagles have sharp vision. They can see other young eagles perched on other clefts with their keen sense of vision. When they mate and begin building their nest eagles swoop way down toward earth and gather up pieces of branches of trees and shrubbery to lay the foundation of their home. The male and female sit in their nest and clean themselves. Even their feathers are woven into the making of their nest. When they catch a rabbit in their talons and feast on its flesh they then tear its hide apart and place it into their nest making it cozy and comfortable.

After mating the eagles watch the young un-hatched eggs of their unborn offspring. Finally the baby birds spring forth to life and they are so ugly to look at. There is no beauty found in a baby eagle. Their eyes are huge and their bodies are pink with patches of down here and there after a few weeks of life. Their parents are on demand constantly to feed and sustain their new eaglets. The parents fly down to the lower places and snatch up some meat that has to be regurgitated so that a liquefied portion can be dropped into their babies mouths. This milky substance fills the stomachs of these tiny eagles until their next feeding.

These baby eagles remind us of those who have been sitting in churches for 25 years who are still being fed milk diets. They have remained babies and they have to be burped. If they aren’t burped they will start fussing and crying because they feel uncomfortable.

The food of these baby eagles becomes more sustainable so that they begin gaining weight and it makes them stronger. They finally reach the stage where the new eagles sit in their nest with their mouths constantly open while their parents are working frantically to feed them.

These reminds us of those Christians who go to church expecting a word in due season whom are hungry for God’s word. Some of them demand to be fed what they want to hear. They don’t want to hear the truth because the truth will convict them and then they will have to change some things in their life and grow up and leave the nest. They are like babies who are being spoon fed. These Christians feel like spitting out anything they don’t want to deal with. When they do this they are hardening their hearts against the truth.

While the eagles are maturing they are hanging around the nest while their parents continue feeding them stronger meat while they are becoming fatter and fatter with their infilling. Suddenly it’s time for change so the mother eagle takes her beak and rips it through the nest. Baby eagles flip here and there, tossed from one side of the nest to the other. Howling chirps are heard as the baby eagle’s bodies land on some thorns and thistles instead of on limb, feathers and animal hides. They are made uncomfortable and quite miserable. They think their mother is crazy for breaking up their nest.

When you pray and negative things begin happening, you sometimes feel like you have fallen out of your comfort zone. Sometimes it’s not Satan attacking you but it is God stirring you out of your nest! When you become comfortable in the nest of God He has to come along and stir you up and get you moving out of where you are to get you to going where you are being sent. A quickening work calls forth a quickening stirring up to move you on in the things of God.

As the young eagles hang out over their nest they begin to admire the mighty wings of their parents. They inspect the strong muscles and great wing span. They watch how their parents soar downward and catch the wind currents.

Young Christians always admire the spiritual muscles or strength of those who operate under a tremendous anointing of God. They want to be like them. They want to have that kind of spiritual dynamo working in and through them. God is no respecter of persons. What He does for one He’ll do for another. If God can use someone else He can and will use you and those you love. Don’t limit God!

One night when the young eagles lie back in their nest to sleep the mother eagle shoves one of her babies out of the nest. You can hear the shrieks of fear, as the sounds grow more distant from the nest. The young eagle hurls head long toward a fast approaching earth-bound landing. As the eagle travels faster and faster he hears a big current of something powerful hurling towards him before he reaches the earth. In one mighty current of wind he lands on his mother’s back where she swoops him up and carries him back to the nest on the high clefts. As the young eagle is catching its breath from the down wind and then the sudden upward thrust he can’t imagine what has just happened. He doesn’t know that his mother is trying to teach him to fly on his own. This experience is all new to him so he thinks she is trying to kill him by throwing him out of the nest. He sure is glad she came to her senses just in the nick of time to rescue him.

Some of you have been hidden in a comfortable nest on a high place and you have allowed someone else to cover you in prayer and feed you God’s word when you were hungering for Him. You have slept at ease in Zion while depending solely upon others to give you new revelation. You have lain down and slept instead of fasting and praying. You have been irresponsible concerning your giving. You have taken and taken and taken. Well, get ready for you are about to be dropped out of your nest.

Mama’s anointing isn’t enough for you! Your pastor’s revelation isn’t enough! Big sister’s prayers aren’t enough! Big brother’s shoulders aren’t enough! You need your own anointing. You need your own revelation. You need God’s shoulders to lean on. You are going to get the rug pulled out from under you! Get ready, get ready, get ready! The current winds are about to change direction and you better be ready to ride upon the wings of the wind. Eagles, your wings are for flying. Spread your wings! Prayers are the wings that faith flies on! Pray, pray, pray! Stop relying on someone else’s prayers. Pray your own prayers.

The next time the mother eagle drops her young eaglet off of the cleft he realizes that this is it, fly or die! So he spreads his wings and soars like the wind.

Eagles are territorial birds so don’t allow the devil to invade your territory! Territorial birds protect their regions. Protect what God has blessed you with thus far.

Don’t give Satan any ground in your life. Territorial eagles drive out their enemies so drive out your enemy also.

When the eagles mature they hang around the nest although there are new eggs in the nest where they were once nurtured. Wherever God has placed you in a body of believers stay there. Stick it out! He has set you there for a purpose. Storms will come! Troubles will come! Get your feet planted firmly on solid ground and stay put until God says it’s time to go!

The eagle is not a migrating bird. When the storms blow in the eagles stay put. When the winter comes they stay. When the snow falls they stay put. They don’t run off to another climate like some Christian’s run to other climates of the anointing.

I encourage each of you to become an eagle Christian. Some huge storms are surrounding some of you while snows are falling on others. Some of you feel spiritually drained like you are in a desert or on a deserted island without any help or any comforts. Stay put! Stand still and see the salvation of your God.

The eagle is a loner. They don’t sit on telephone poles or telephone lines running their mouth all the time when someone new approaches. The eagles don’t feed with sparrows.

Little differences of opinion occupy small minds. You have the mind of Christ so think like Christ and stop allowing insignificant differences to control your thinking processes.

Eagles don’t fly with crows. Spiritual crows are always stirring up a ruckus. They are always murmuring and complaining about how bad things are endlessly. They are always fussing about how difficult it is to serve God and to do what is right.

Eagles don’t fly, they soar. They rely upon the currents of the wind. They don’t flap their wings this way or that way. They catch the wind’s current with their wings and soar to the high places. They ride on the wings of the wind. They soar through the storms. They soar through the troubles. They soar through the sickness. They soar through the poverty.

Eagle Christians rely upon the current wind (move) of the Holy Spirit and they are lifted above their present circumstances. They are lifted beyond what they see and what they feel. They bring fear to their prey. They dwell upon the high places where some fear to dwell. They are hidden in the cleft of the rock (Jesus). It’s on these high places that they find their refuge and their strength. It’s here that they are protected and it’s here on the high places that they dwell in safety from other predators.

Under the wings of the Almighty is where you need to be dwelling.

They that run with turkeys cannot soar with eagles. Quit running with turkeys!

Stop hanging around the world and hang around God fearing people.

You become like those you associate with. You become like those you hang around. Hang around the anointed people of God and their anointing will rub off on your life.

Proverbs 13:20 He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.

Isaiah 40:31 But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
