BUILDING A LIVING TABERNACLE OF PRAYER BOOK
Chapter Nine - Building A Living Tabernacle of Prayer Book
SPEAKING GOD’S WORD
When we speak to any problem to be removed from us or to be cast down, it must leave. We must never doubt in our heart but we must believe what God said would come to pass. Only then will we have what God spoke to encourage us to speak the same words.
Mark 11:22-26 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say (man’s words) unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart (man’s heart) but shall believe (man’s words and God’s words) shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith (man’s words and God’s words).
This Scripture is a two-fold teaching of the power of agreement between mankind and God. He spoke it to mankind’s heart first but before mankind could agree with the spoken word he had to have the power to believe. In man and God’s agreement of their words a miracle is born and the mountain of adversity is cast into the sea. Where does God cast all of our sins? Isn’t it in the sea of forgetfulness? If unbelief is a sin then isn’t it also cast into the sea of forgetfulness?
Learn how to expect a miracle through God’s word. By agreeing with God’s spoken word we activate the desired miracle by our choice of words. If there is life and death in the power of the tongue and we eat its fruit, what kind of fruit should we desire? Do you want good fruit by speaking what God said you could have or do you want to produce bad, evil fruit by speaking a negative report? Negative words open the door to Satan’s interference and a disruption of harmony to all life forces. This uniformity of imbalance throws the physical, emotional and spiritual complexity of man off course, preventing us from believing, or expecting anything from God. This is a stumbling block to prevent us from focusing on what God said we could have through the agreement of His word.
We must rise above all the hindrances and pray until we break through all our barriers of unbelief. When we charge through all the conflicting ideas we expect to receive our miracle and we obtain it gloriously.
Learn how to accept your miracle. Many people receive their miracle but they fail to accept it so they lose it quickly and return wondering where it went. When you know, in your heart, that God gave you a miracle, accept it and walk it out.
Praise Him every time the lying symptoms return. Don’t give so much thought to the pain. In fact, take no thought. Are you hearing me? I said take no thought. You are entertaining imaginations and fantasies when you think upon those things. Taking no thought puts you in a higher realm of the spirit. Do not rebuke the pain! When you constantly rebuke the pain and the lying symptoms you are entertaining the thoughts of bewilderment.
Praise God for your miracle! Keep praising Him with every twinge of pain or poverty. Tell Him how great and mighty He is. Quote His word back to Him. If you do this you will redirect your focus back onto God and what His Son did for you through the shedding of His blood. By His stripes you were healed. By focusing on your pain your attention is directed toward Satan. You are glorifying the devil by focusing on your pain or poverty. Stop doing this! Get your eyes back on Jesus. He bore your bruises, your infirmities, and your wounds whether internally or externally. He paid the price for your healing in such a vast measure that it pleased His Father. He was obedient unto death.
Learn how to rise above the miracle you need. Come to a place of rest in God where you sit at His feet and learn of Him while He pulls all your weight (the load of problems). If you are yoked up with Jesus and His burden is light and His yoke is easy then why are you crying or sweating over your problems?
Rise up in Christ. Don’t you sit in heavenly places? Aren’t you a priest and a king?
A yoke denotes work. When you are yoked up (working with) Jesus, with positive confessions, instead of against Him by speaking negative confessions what is your job? Isn’t your joy to learn of Him?
Isn’t that what He tells us to do? When we do a job don’t we usually receive a payment for our labor? Is the laborer worthy of his hire?
Are you worthy of your just wage? Have you been learning and inquiring of the Lord? Do you expect this to pay off in your spiritual walk? If not, then why are you bothering to learn more of Him? Are you expecting a small wage or a large wage? How much time you have sown into learning of Him will determine your pay off, won’t it? Have you sown a little or have you sown much? Is God true to His word? Have you labored in His word? Have you labored in your prayer closet? Are you believing for your miracle of perfect health and physical fitness? Are you seeking a financial miracle? Are you seeking a miracle for your broken heart or your wounded (cast down) spirit? Are you believing for your household to be saved and reunited?
This will require a miracle in order for it to happen. Years of separation and walls of hurt in families can only be restored by the Repairer of the breach.
Whatever your miracle need is, there is only one way to acquire it and that is through knowing God and resting in Him. Only after you know the Lord of glory will the laborer be paid their just wage. The wage is your miracle in whatever area you have the greatest need because God sees your heart.
Learn how to move the mountains in your life. How do you move the mountains?
The word tells us to say (speak) to our mountains (problem or situation) to be cast into the sea.
Cast down every high and lofty thought that is trying to invade your thought life. Cast down your enemy. Pull down the strongholds yourself. Don’t ask God to pull them down. He has given you the authority to pull them down. Loose the bands of wickedness, break the yokes of bondage, burst the bands of evil, loose the heavy burdens, break every yoke so that the oppressed will be set free and you can walk in a place of victory. Your love, devotion and dependence upon God will move your mountains out of your way and move your miracle into your life. Your dedication to God and your separation from the world will also move you into a place of receiving miracles.
A confession is a fact of faith based on God’s word. They must come from your heart, not out of your mouth. Your confession must line up with God’s will and His purpose for your life.
Stand and believe when evil reports are given by others. In II Kings 20:1-6 there is a story about a king who became so deathly sick that it appeared as though he was going to die. Isaiah, the prophet, was sent to King Hezekiah to tell him to set his house in order.
What does it mean to set your house in order? Doesn’t it mean that we had better set things right between God and us? We need to spiritually have things worked out concerning our eternal security.
I will paraphrase the remainder of the story. Isaiah spoke these words, "For you shall die, and not live!"
Hezekiah had no ultimatums, no choice whatsoever in the matter concerning his life. Death had verbally been pronounced over him and death was imminent. There was no other way out of his predicament. Did Hezekiah give up or give in to what the prophet spoke over him? No, he did not. He was persistent in his faith. He turned his face to the wall and prayed. He knew that according to God’s word that whatever he asked for, if he believed for it and refused to doubt in his heart, he could have it. He wasn’t ready to die. He chose to live. He had things to do, places to go and see. He believed that God could and would turn things around for him so he sought the face of God when all other hope was gone. There was no other hope for him. He was already confined to a sick bed. His body was so weak he couldn’t even sit up. The only thing he could do was turn his face away from his situation, away from his hopelessness, away from the evil report, away from the prophet and turn toward his Creator.
It is extraordinary how Hezekiah prayed. He didn’t start out begging God to heal him. He didn’t tell God that He was his only hope. He didn’t repent of some un-confessed sin which most people think that those stricken with terminal diseases have in their hearts. The first words out of Hezekiah’s mouth were reminders of what he had done for the Lord.
"Remember how I have walked before you in truth and with a perfect heart. I have done that which is good in your sight."
Hezekiah cried a lot. He poured himself out in travail. He could no longer speak. All he could do was cry from the depths of his heart.
If sickness, disease, illnesses, or infirmities are caused by having un-confessed sin or hidden un-forgiveness, bitterness or resentment in one’s heart then why was Hezekiah so sick? He reminded God that he had a perfect heart before him, didn’t he? No sin can reside in a perfect heart can it? He also reminded God that he had walked before Him in truth. He reminded the Lord that he had done that which was good in God’s sight. It doesn’t appear that Hezekiah was in sin, even hidden sin. So why was he so sick? Why was he going to die? Why had God sent him a prophet who would speak a death sentence over his life? Wasn’t God trying to get Hezekiah’s attention?
If someone is sent to you when you are very ill and they speak death defying, negative words over you, what will you do? Will you accept the bad report? Will you give in to the illness? Will you surrender your will to these hard cruel facts? Think about it. What will you do? What choice will you make? Will you surrender or will you fight for your life? Aren’t you God’s child the same as Hezekiah was? If he could bring all that he had done before the Lord, why can’t you?
There is absolutely no mention of Hezekiah ever asking for a healing or a miracle. He never pleaded for God to spare his life. He so trusted God that he never once pleaded his case. He only stated the reality of his whole existence in the earth. Hezekiah’s purpose for living hung in the balance of what he had already done for the Lord in his past.
When Isaiah was entering the Outer Court the Lord spoke to him and told him to go back and deliver a message to Hezekiah. The Lord spoke three answers for each of the three reminders Hezekiah had prayed.
The Lord said, "I have heard your prayer. I have seen your tears. I will heal you."
God reinforces the quickness of Hezekiah’s recovery by telling him that on the third day he will go up unto the house of the Lord. Here is a man so weak that he can’t even get out of bed because of his sickness yet three days from now he will be fully dressed and going to the temple to worship God. God throws in a miracle bonus by adding 15 years to Hezekiah’s life. Another miracle was that the shadow of the sun would return backward ten degrees on the sun dial of Ahaz as a sign of God’s promise to Hezekiah. God even goes so far as to tell Hezekiah that He will deliver him and the city out of the hand of the Assyrian king and his enemy. God assures Hezekiah that He will defend this city for His sake and David’s sake.
The blood covenant made between God and David was still intact. The promise God gave to David would be honored in Hezekiah’s reign. Nothing or no one could destroy their covenant agreement.
Hezekiah was healed when a lump of figs was applied to the boil. The poison drained from his body and was absorbed into the figs. Hezekiah lived and did not die as was spoken over him by the prophet. He lived to declare the marvelous works of the Lord in the earth.
How about you will you live and not die if your physician speaks a bad report over your life? Will you stand and believe God even though the situation looks impossible? How great is your faith? If you can believe for your salvation then can’t you also believe for your miracle? What can you possibly lose by believing?
What is the purpose for a miracle? Isn’t a miracle a supernatural intervention of the affairs of life? A miracle is a revelation of God’s resurrection power. A miracle is offered as edification of His word. The Spirit and the word must agree. Jesus performed 40 known miracles.
In Mark 5:22-24, 35-43 Jairus came to Jesus with great humility and reverence. He fell at Jesus’ feet showing an act of true humility. Jesus healed the woman with the issue of blood in between Jairus’ request and the pronouncement of his daughter’s death. Why do you suppose God used this particular frame of time to heal an incurable disease? Wasn’t it to activate Jairus’ faith to a higher level of belief? By pressing into the realm of the spirit by faith now Jairus would be put on the line for believing not just for the healing of his daughter but for God to raise her from the dead. Jesus stated that the girl slept.
In John 11:1-44 Jesus stated that Lazarus slept. Death, to Christ, is only a form of sleep.
When Lazarus died how many times did Jesus mention their ability to believe? Wasn’t it four times? How many times did Jesus groan and weep? Wasn’t it three times? He wept once for Martha’s unbelief, once for Mary’s unbelief and once for the unbelief of all the witnesses standing around Him. Jesus wept because of their unbelief, not because He was moved to sorrow. Why would He weep because of Lazarus’ death when He already knew that His Father was going to use Him to raise His friend from the dead?
The seven miracles of Christ were (1) The blind receive their sight (2) the lame walk (3) the lepers are cleansed (4) the deaf hear (5) the dead are raised up (6) the poor have the gospel preached to them and (7) blessed is he, whosoever shall not be offended in me.
The greater Satan’s attack the more powerful God’s manifestation. Feelings of accusation and condemnation will hide your miracle. Feelings of guilt and shame will cover up your miracle.
Salvation is the greatest miracle of all. Don’t you realize that it is harder for God to redeem you from your sins and get you cleaned up from all your bad habits and your own theories and opinions? God has to take you as you are and mold you into His image. He is forever molding, sculpting and smoothing your rough edges down and developing His character and His nature into your vessel.
If He created our bodies, our souls and our spirits can’t He heal them and cause miracles to happen within the complexity of them? He is willing.
Are you willing to believe Him to send you your miracle? It doesn’t matter what it is, are you willing? He just wants to know if you are willing to trust Him. If you are willing I want to lead you in a prayer.
"Lord, you see and know all things. You know where my heart is today. You see that there are some things in my life that need changing but I don’t have the power within myself to change them. Cleanse me, Lord, so that you will be pleased with my life and my service to you. Open my heart to receive all your blessings. Forgive me of all my hidden sins. Teach me how to forgive others.
Lord, I need a miracle now. I need to touch the hem of your garment. I speak to this mountain of sickness, poverty, lust, perverseness, pornography, drugs, alcohol, bad temper, strife, overweight, cursing, unemployment, and homelessness to be removed! Be gone! I cast my mountain into the sea of forgetfulness in the name of Jesus! Satan, you are loosened from your assignments against me. Take your hands off of me. I cancel every evil assignment that has been issued against me in the name of Jesus!
Lord, I receive my miracle now. I receive all your blessings that are part of your New Covenant through Jesus’ blood, death and His resurrection. Restore, heal, reconcile and return me to your will, plan, and purpose for my life. I am willing to allow you to do the changes that are necessary to make me whole and complete in the name of Jesus.
Thank you for the faith to believe that these words that I have spoken shall come to pass. Thank you, Lord, for your mercy and your grace. Thank you for loving me and redeeming me. Thank you for my miracle in the name of Jesus. Amen."
